Traffic disruptions reported on Autoroute de l’Avenir and RN2

Significant traffic disruptions are reported on two major routes. On the Autoroute de l’Avenir, the section between Keur Ndiaye Lô and CICAD will undergo nightly closures from 11:00 PM to 5:30 AM on the nights of September 7–8 and September 8–9, 2026. These closures are necessary for electrical installation work and will affect traffic in both directions.

Detour routes have been established for motorists. For the AIBD-Dakar direction, drivers should use exit 12 at Sébikotane and rejoin the highway via entry 10 at Keur Ndiaye Lô. For the Dakar-AIBD direction, drivers should use exit 10 at Keur Ndiaye Lô and rejoin via entry 11 at CICAD.

Separately, traffic on National Road 2 (RN2) connecting Faranah and Kissidougou is currently disrupted due to an overturned truck blocking the roadway. Authorities have been dispatched to secure the area and clear the vehicle. Drivers are advised to exercise caution or delay travel through the area until the road is cleared.
