Traffic disruptions reported on E411 and A8 motorways
Commuters in Belgium and France are facing significant traffic delays due to roadworks and accidents on major motorways.
On the E411 highway in Belgium, construction is underway to renew the road surface between the Beez viaduct and Wierde. The project, costing 2.5 million euros, has reduced traffic to two lanes in both directions toward Luxembourg and Brussels, with a speed limit of 70 km/h. Sofico, the manager of Walloon highways, stated that the works are expected to be completed by the end of September.
In France, the A8 motorway near Nice is experiencing congestion in the direction of Italy. Delays of 10 to 15 minutes have been reported between Antibes and Saint-Laurent-du-Var, compounded by an accident occurring near the Saint-Isidore toll plaza. Vinci Autoroutes has advised drivers to avoid the sector if possible.
