Caldas de Reis fatal accident on AP-9 highway

A 51-year-old man from Vilagarcía de Arousa died on Tuesday following a collision between a truck and a van on the AP-9 highway near Caldas de Reis. The accident occurred at kilometer 107 in the direction of Vigo around 2:30 PM.

According to the Guardia Civil, the truck jackknifed and struck the van, which was parked on the shoulder. The driver of the van became trapped inside the vehicle and subsequently passed away. The truck driver was reported uninjured.

The incident caused significant traffic disruptions, leading to the closure of both lanes between kilometers 106 and 107. Emergency services, including the 061 Health Emergencies, Boiro Firefighters, and Civil Protection volunteers from Cuntis, attended the scene. Traffic was eventually restored after 7:30 PM.
