Traffic restrictions announced for Plzeň and Jihlava roadworks
Major road construction projects in the Czech cities of Plzeň and Jihlava are leading to significant traffic disruptions.
In Plzeň, the reconstruction of Masarykova Street is moving to the intersection with Těšínská Street. Starting October 29, 2026, this intersection will close to all traffic, affecting motorists, cyclists, and public transport. The project includes repairing utility networks, road surfaces, sidewalks, and the construction of a two-way cycle path. Public transport routes, including trolleybus line 13 and school bus line 38, will be diverted to alternative streets and stops.
In Jihlava, several roadworks are causing closures. Znojemská Street will be closed from the Ke Střelnici section to the V Ráji roundabout starting October 20, with detours via Brtnická Street and the southern bypass. Additionally, Jiráskova Street is expected to close completely for several weeks following temporary restrictions. Other ongoing works in the city include long-term closures on 17. listopadu Street and sections of Kosmákova Street.
