Traffic restrictions in Matsumoto and Fukuoka due to local events

Major local events in Japan will cause significant traffic disruptions and bus route changes in Matsumoto and Fukuoka in November 2026.

In Matsumoto, the Matsumoto Citizen Festival on November 3, 2026, will result in pedestrian zones in the city center. Alpico Kotsu has announced that several bus lines, including the Shinshu University Yokota Loop, Asama Line, and various Town Sneaker courses, will operate on detour routes. Passengers will be unable to board or alight at several key stops, such as Daimyo-cho, Honmachi, and Kokufu-cho, between 09:50 and 15:30.

In Fukuoka, the Fukuoka Marathon 2026 on November 8, 2026, will trigger traffic restrictions in the Tenjin area. Sanden Kotsu reported that the Shimonoseki–Fukuoka highway bus (Fukufuku-go) will experience delays or detours. Specifically, buses departing Hakata and Tenjin for Shimonoseki may bypass the Nakasu stop and use an alternative stop at Gofukucho K for Kuramoto.
