Traffic safety concerns on Avenida Escritor Rodrigo Rubio in Albacete

Drivers in Albacete are facing increased safety risks on Avenida Escritor Rodrigo Rubio, a major thoroughfare near the Imaginalia commercial area. The road, which connects the roundabout near Mercadona to the one near Leroy Merlin and extends toward the Madrid Highway, is currently plagued by two primary issues.

Large heavy-duty trucks and articulated vehicles frequently park in designated spaces but exceed the width of the parking zones. This causes them to protrude into the right-hand driving lane, forcing motorists to maneuver into the left lane to maintain safe distances. This congestion is further complicated by existing defects in the road surface, creating a challenging environment for drivers navigating the area.
