Traffic safety workshops and privacy concerns for children in Montenegro and Croatia
In Croatia, students at Brajda Elementary School in Rijeka participated in a traffic safety and culture workshop. Led by representatives from the City of Rijeka's traffic police and the Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities, the session focused on safe pedestrian corridors and the dangers of improper parking near crossings. Experts warned that parked vehicles can obstruct visibility, making it difficult for drivers to see children due to their shorter stature.
In Montenegro, concerns have been raised regarding the increasing use of 'Baby on Board' and personalized child-related stickers on vehicles. Critics argue that while intended to encourage cautious driving, these stickers offer no proven safety benefits and may pose privacy risks. Specifically, personalized stickers that include a child's name can inadvertently expose sensitive information, such as gender and age, to potential predators.
