Traffic signal outages and delays hit Querétaro and Sonora

In Querétaro, a loss of electrical supply left traffic lights at several major intersections—including Zaragoza‑Independencia, 20 de Noviembre‑Ejército Republicano, Arista‑16 de Septiembre‑15 de Mayo, and Universidad‑Damián Carmona—out of service. The municipal Mobility Secretariat asked drivers to proceed with caution, respect pedestrian right‑of‑way and give priority to emergency vehicles.

In Hermosillo, Sonora, newly installed pedestrian signals at the Luis Encinas boulevard underpass near the University of Sonora remain inactive a month after installation. Despite being designed for inclusive crossing, pedestrians continue to walk beneath the bridge. Municipal secretary Eduardo Acuña said the signals are to be activated by a button that temporarily stops vehicle flow, but the crossing at street level has not yet been opened, forcing continued use of the under‑bridge route.
