Traffic stops in Georgia and New Jersey lead to arrests

Two separate incidents involving traffic stops and subsequent arrests have been reported in the United States.

In Georgia, a woman was taken into custody by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office after a high-speed pursuit. The driver, operating a Honda, reportedly failed to stop for a deputy, crossed an intersection, and left her lane five times before stopping to avoid a PIT maneuver. She faced a variety of charges, including speeding, resisting arrest, driving without insurance, driving without a seat belt, using a cell phone while driving, and driving with a suspended registration. During the encounter, the driver claimed her rights were being violated because the officer would not allow her to drive home before addressing the citation.

In New Jersey, a routine traffic stop by the Neptune Township Police Department escalated into a chaotic encounter with a driver identified as Elizabeth. The woman reportedly exited her vehicle against orders, made various demands, and engaged in screaming and threats. Following the incident, she was taken to Hackensack Meridian Health/Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation, where she was cleared before being transported to jail. She faces charges of resisting arrest, obstruction, and disorderly conduct.
