Traffic violations reported in Banqiao and Yangzhou

In Banqiao District, Taiwan, a 26-year-old man driving a Mercedes-Benz ran a red light at the intersection of Banlin Road and Xikun 2nd Street. The vehicle struck a scooter carrying two people, and pedestrians crossing the street were also nearly involved in the collision. Both the rider and the passenger were sent to the hospital; they are reported to be in non-life-threatening condition. Police confirmed there were no signs of drunk driving.

In Yangzhou, China, a taxi was ordered to cease operations immediately after footage surfaced showing a passenger sitting in the open trunk of the vehicle while traveling on a city expressway. The passenger was seen sitting among at least four large suitcases without a seatbelt or any safety protection. The Yangzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau and public security police have initiated legal proceedings against the driver for illegal passenger transport.
