Trafigura appoints Hervé Otschudi as Executive Director for DRC
Trafigura has appointed Hervé Otschudi as its new Executive Director for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Otschudi, a Congolese national with over 20 years of experience in the commodities, mining, and financial services sectors, previously served as a business development advisor to the board of the state-owned mining company Gécamines.
In his new role, Otschudi will lead Trafigura’s strategic development in the DRC, overseeing commercial activities in energy, metals, and minerals, as well as associated logistics. He will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with government authorities, institutions, and various partners.
The appointment aims to consolidate Trafigura’s presence in the DRC, a nation considered vital to global supply chains for critical resources. The group’s regional interests include the Lobito Atlantic Railway, a corridor connecting the DRC’s Copperbelt to the port of Lobito in Angola.
