San Sebastián Gastronomika hosts major culinary award ceremonies

San Sebastián Gastronomika Spanish gastronomy Russian salad championship AOVE cooking prize culinary awards

Several culinary awards were presented during the San Sebastián Gastronomika international congress.

Tragatá, a restaurant from Ronda, won the 9th National Russian Salad Championship. In a special ‘champion of champions’ edition, chef Daniel Moreno competed against previous winners from across Spain. His winning recipe features tuna belly, egg, pickled piparra peppers, and finely diced green beans, noted for being prepared fresh daily without refrigeration.

Marta Oti, representing the Fontané restaurant from Girona, was awarded the XXIII “Jaén, paraíso interior” Cooking Prize with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (AOVE). Organized by the Diputación de Jaén, the award recognizes excellence in using olive oil. Oti won with her recipe ‘Ciclos del olivo’.

Additionally, the ‘Sabores Almería’ delegation participated in the congress, showcasing the gastronomic diversity and agro-food products of the Almería province through various showcookings and exhibitions.
