Tragedy in Karadeniz Ereğli as 9-year-old student dies

A 9-year-old student, Ömer Halis Yıldırım, has passed away following a medical emergency at İhsan Yılmaz İlkokulu in the Karadeniz Ereğli district of Zonguldak.

During a lesson at approximately 1:30 PM, the third-grade student suddenly collapsed. While the child was known to have epilepsy, the Karadeniz Ereğli District Directorate of National Education announced that preliminary assessments indicate the cause of death was a heart attack.

Teachers immediately contacted emergency services, and medical teams provided first aid on-site before transporting the student to a local private hospital. Despite medical interventions, the child could not be saved. The incident has caused significant grief within the local educational community.
