Tragedy in Konya and wildlife injuries in Kuşadası

In the Seydişehir district of Konya, a hunting accident resulted in the death of a young man named Emre Tepeci. The incident occurred around 01:30 in the Yaylacık neighborhood while Tepeci and his companion, Mustafa H., were attempting to hunt wild boars in agricultural fields. During the hunt, shots fired by Mustafa H. accidentally struck Tepeci. Emergency services and gendarmerie responded to the scene, where Tepeci was pronounced dead. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

In Kuşadası, İzmir, wildlife conservation efforts faced setbacks as two storks were injured. A white stork chick, part of a pair that had successfully nested in a marble workshop garden after several years, was found exhausted and unable to stand after a failed first flight attempt, likely due to hitting wires. Additionally, a black stork (Ciconia nigra) was brought to local authorities with a broken right wing. Both birds were handed over to the Aydın Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate for medical treatment and will be released back into the wild if they recover.
