Trail runner Ida Amelie Robsahm dies in Norway hiking accident

Ida Amelie Robsahm, a 30-year-old professional trail runner and chemistry teacher, has died following a fall while hiking near the Romsdalseggen peak in Norway. The accident occurred on one of the country’s most challenging hiking routes.

Robsahm, a member of the Asics Trail Team, reportedly fell several dozen meters near a rock formation. Although rescue teams arrived quickly via helicopter and transported her to a hospital, medical professionals were unable to save her.

As a prominent athlete, Robsahm achieved significant success in the sport, including a second-place finish at the Mont-Blanc Marathon and fourth place at the Trail Running World Championships. Her coach, Sindre Buraas, and the Asics company released statements expressing profound grief, describing her as an exceptional athlete and a kind teammate.
