Trailer carrying tomatoes overturns on highway in Apaseo el Grande
A trailer carrying a large load of tomatoes overturned on the highway in the Apaseo-Celaya stretch near the La Amistad Industrial Park in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato. The accident, which occurred on Friday morning, was reportedly caused by driver fatigue, leading the operator to lose control and strike a metal retaining wall.
The impact caused the trailer to flip into the median, breaking the cargo box and scattering tons of tomatoes across the roadway. While the driver escaped without significant injuries, the accident resulted in substantial material damage and caused partial disruptions to traffic flow. Emergency responders, including firefighters and paramedics, attended the scene, and the National Guard coordinated traffic management while heavy-duty cranes were used to clear the vehicle.
