Train disruptions in Denmark due to signal failures
Train services between Fredericia and Odense are facing significant disruptions, with regional trains being replaced by buses at least until Sunday, October 18. The issues stem from a fire in a security cabinet in Aarup on October 9, which caused signal failures between Middelfart and Odense.
Banedanmark expects the impact on rail traffic to persist for several weeks. While InterCityLyn and international trains between Copenhagen and Hamburg are running, passengers should expect delays. Additionally, there are no direct InterCity trains between Odense and Esbjerg on Wednesday, requiring passengers to transfer in Fredericia.
DSB advises travelers to check departures via Rejseplanen, as station screens may not accurately display bus schedules. Passengers facing delays may use their tickets for later departures on the same day, and unused tickets for the current day can be refunded without a fee. Those delayed by more than 30 minutes are eligible for the DSB Basis travel time guarantee.
