Train incidents reported in Torrelavega and Salamanca
In Torrelavega, Spain, National Police officers prevented a man from being struck by a train at the Bulevar Altamira station. After receiving an alert regarding a potential suicide attempt, officers coordinated a rapid response. Two agents signaled the train driver to stop while others reached the individual, located approximately 50 meters from the platform, and moved him to a safe area. The man was subsequently transported to Sierrallana Hospital for medical assistance.
In a separate incident in Salamanca, an elderly man died after being struck by a train near the San Gonzalo neighborhood. Emergency services reported that the individual appeared to be unaware of the approaching locomotive while walking on the tracks. Despite the arrival of paramedics and police, the victim died at the scene. Authorities have cordoned off the area for investigation.
