Training initiatives launched for rural water services and agricultural leadership

In Chile, a training program for administrators, operators, and leaders of Rural Sanitary Services (SSR) was held in Linares. Organized by the University of Talca in collaboration with the Hydraulic Works Directorate (DOH) and the Sub-directorate of Rural Sanitary Services, the fourth edition of this program focuses on improving management in rural drinking water systems. The curriculum covers administration, accounting, legislation, risk prevention, and service quality, including updates on labor regulations such as the Ley Karin.

In Venezuela, the National School of Peasant Leadership, named ‘General del Pueblo Ezequiel Zamora’, was inaugurated in Aragua. Located within the Agrofanb facilities, the school aims to strengthen food sovereignty by providing technical and organizational training. The institution will serve over 15,500 peasant councils nationwide, offering a curriculum that includes workshops, diplomas, and undergraduate degrees in areas such as sustainable agricultural production and agroecology.
