Trainspotting 4K restoration to screen at Cineteca Nuevo León

To mark three decades since its original release, the 1996 film ‘Trainspotting’ is receiving a 4K restored screening at the Cineteca Nuevo León ‘Alejandra Rangel Hinojosa’ in Mexico. The special season will run from August 20 to September 13 in Sala 1.

Directed by Danny Boyle and based on the novel by Irvine Welsh, the film is considered a landmark of 1990s British cinema. Set in Edinburgh, it follows Mark Renton and his group of friends as they navigate addiction, economic hardship, and social marginalization. The film is noted for its fast-paced narrative, dark humor, and iconic soundtrack that helped define a generation.
