Trajan Gocevski claims President Boris Trajkovski was assassinated

Former official Trajan Gocevski has claimed that the 2004 plane crash that killed President Boris Trajkovski was not an accident, but an assassination.

Gocevski stated that the case should be re-examined within the context of the political and security crises in North Macedonia during 1999 and 2001. He noted that certain circumstances regarding the investigation, including the involvement of foreign navigators and officers, remain insufficiently clarified. Gocevski argued that the state failed to insist on a full disclosure of the facts, which is important for both the families involved and the state itself.

Furthermore, Gocevski suggested that North Macedonian institutions need to take a more serious approach to investigating unresolved historical cases of political violence and assassinations.
