Traktionssysteme Austria opens new stamping center in Wiener Neudorf

Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA) has opened a new stamping and sheet metal processing center, Werk 3a, in Wiener Neudorf. The project represents an investment of approximately 9.5 million euros.

The new facility aims to increase the company's self-sufficiency by producing electrical steel sheets in-house, a component previously largely sourced from abroad. While the previous in-house production rate was between 20 and 25 percent, the new center focuses on automation, precision, and energy-efficient manufacturing. With the addition of a second stamping machine planned for 2027, the facility aims to produce five million sheets per year.

TSA, which describes itself as the world's largest manufacturer of railway motors, produces approximately 10,500 electric motors, gearboxes, and generators annually for customers in about 70 countries. The company's long-term vision, referred to as ‘TSA-City’, involves expanding the site into an integrated location with four production halls, potentially increasing the workforce from 450 to 550 employees by 2030.
