Trama Vertical launches new Spanish vertical video platform

Hibiscus Market Producciones has launched Trama Vertical, a new digital platform based in Mallorca dedicated to vertical video formats. Led by Marina Rico, the project aims to bring the vertical drama business model—which has seen significant success in China and the United States—to the Spanish-speaking market.

The platform will focus on short-form content specifically designed for smartphones and tablets, featuring episodes typically lasting between one and five minutes. While the format is popular with younger audiences, Trama Vertical intends to target a broader demographic by offering a mix of fiction, documentaries, interviews, and entertainment.

The company is currently preparing its first two original series, with filming scheduled for September and premieres expected before Christmas. Trama Vertical is also opening a financing round to support its growth and plans to utilize local talent from the Balearic Islands for its initial productions.
