Tramutola honors citizens living abroad at fifth annual event

The town of Tramutola held the fifth edition of ‘Tramutolesi nel mondo’, an event dedicated to celebrating the ties between the local community and its citizens living abroad. The initiative aims to honor individuals who have achieved professional distinction in Italy or internationally.

This year, the awards were presented to Caterina Marotta, a judge of the Supreme Court of Cassation, and Rosanna De Nictolis, President of the third section of the Council of State. Their names join a list of previous honorees displayed in the town square.

The event also included a conference featuring Mayor Luigi Marotta, Luigi Scaglione of the Centro Studi Lucani nel mondo, and researcher Mina Falvella. Discussions focused on migration flows and the historical context of Lucanian emigration, with Scaglione noting that the topic of Italians abroad remains insufficiently addressed in national political debates.
