Trani railway station fire disrupts Foggia-Bari line
Rail traffic on the Foggia-Bari line has been suspended following a fire at the Trani railway station. The blaze affected a technical room containing transformers and relays, prompting an immediate halt to circulation to allow firefighters to operate safely.
The incident has caused significant disruptions for commuters and long-distance travelers. Multiple regional trains have been canceled, while InterCity and high-speed services are experiencing delays of over two hours.
Trenitalia has implemented several service adjustments. Some high-speed trains from Milan to Lecce or Bari are terminating early in Barletta or Foggia. Replacement bus services have been organized for certain routes, such as the Bari Centrale to Foggia connection, to assist passengers during the disruption. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
