Trans Jateng to launch new bus corridors in Magelang‑Temanggung (2027) and Jepara‑Pati (2028)
The Central Java provincial government is expanding the Trans Jateng public‑bus network with two new corridors. The Magelang‑Temanggung route, linking Kabupaten Magelang, Kota Magelang and Kabupaten Temanggung, is slated to begin operations in 2027 and will start with about 14 buses. A second corridor serving Jepara, Kudus and Pati is planned for launch in 2028 after a memorandum of understanding is signed in 2027.
Arif Jatmiko, head of the provincial transport department, said technical preparations and early community outreach have already started, with more intensive socialisation scheduled for early 2027. The expansion aims to integrate the new routes with existing city and rural transport services, acting as feeders and preserving local travel options. Governor Ahmad Luthfi and local officials are cooperating to ensure smooth implementation and avoid conflicts with existing routes.
