Yogyakarta transportation services update KRL, airport links, and Trans Jogja facilities

Public transportation services in the Yogyakarta and Solo regions have undergone various updates and operational shifts. The KRL commuter line service between Solo and Yogyakarta continues to operate with a fare of Rp 8,000 per trip, offering frequent departures from stations such as Palur and Tugu Yogyakarta.

For travelers heading to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), several options are available. The YIA Airport Train provides regular service between Tugu Station and YIA with fares starting at Rp 10,000. Additionally, DAMRI bus services operate from various points in Yogyakarta, including Sleman City Hall and Terminal Condongcatur, to the airport with a fixed fare of Rp 80,000.

Within the city, Trans Jogja remains a primary transit option, utilizing a cashless payment system via electronic cards or digital wallets like GoPay. Notably, as of August 27, 2026, Trans Jogja has relocated its waiting area at the Giwangan Terminal to a new facility in the eastern part of the terminal building to improve passenger comfort and order.
