Trans women hold first state meeting in Xalapa, Veracruz

The First State Meeting of Trans Women was held in Xalapa, Veracruz, to strengthen organization, unity, and coordination among the community. Convened by the organization Manos en Rosa, the event brought together activists, civil society representatives, and various institutions to establish a common agenda.

Participants analyzed priority issues including health, justice, education, and employment to ensure the full exercise of human rights. Tamara Viveros Pérez, president of Manos en Rosa and co-founder of the Alianza Transveracruz, noted the importance of collective work and coordination between civil society and institutions.

Local deputy Astrid Sánchez Moguel attended the event, emphasizing the need to combat prejudices and stereotypes. She highlighted the importance of creating and maintaining spaces for representation and recognition for trans women and other sectors of sexual diversity to ensure better opportunities for future generations.
