Transalpina road traffic hours restricted due to winter weather

Traffic schedules on the Transalpina road (DN67C) are being modified due to unfavorable weather conditions at high altitudes. Starting Saturday, September 26, driving will only be permitted daily between 09:00 and 18:00 on the sector between Rânca and Obârșia Lotrului.

The National Administration of Road Infrastructure and DRDP Craiova reported that temperatures have dropped significantly, with occurrences of rain, sleet, snow, and ice on the roadway. These conditions, combined with strong winds and low visibility due to fog, have prompted the decision to limit access hours to ensure driver safety.

Authorities have deployed winter maintenance machinery, including blade-equipped vehicles and anti-skid material spreaders, to manage the route. Drivers are advised to check weather conditions and road status before traveling, as certain sections of the road lack mobile phone signal and pose real dangers during closed hours.
