Transavia adds Airbus A321neo to Rotterdam and Eindhoven bases

Transavia will station its new Airbus A321neo aircraft at Rotterdam The Hague Airport from October, making it the first Dutch base after Schiphol to receive the quieter, more fuel‑efficient jets. The airline also plans to introduce the type at Eindhoven Airport after the airport reopens in summer 2027 following a period of major maintenance.

The A321neo replaces older Boeing 737‑800s, offering about a 50 % reduction in noise footprint and lower CO₂ emissions. CEO Paul Terstegge said the move brings “a quieter and more economical operation, benefiting passengers, staff and nearby residents.” The fleet renewal is part of Transavia's broader strategy to modernise its aircraft and reduce environmental impact across its Dutch home bases.
