Transavia expands Belgian operations with new Brussels Airport crew base

Transavia has inaugurated a fully operational local crew base at Brussels Airport, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the Belgian market. Since beginning operations at the airport in 2022, the airline has grown from a limited service into a strategic hub featuring local staff and a growing destination network.

Currently, the airline has four aircraft stationed at Brussels Airport. Transavia CEO Paul Terstegge stated that Belgium is an important market for the company and noted that the airline is continuing to invest in its personnel, network, and affordable offerings.

Future plans include the launch of a new route between Brussels and Porto on December 14, as well as planned connections to Heraklion, Ponta Delgada, and Thessaloniki for the summer 2027 season. Additionally, the airline intends to modernize its fleet by replacing Boeing 737 NG aircraft with Airbus A320neo and A321neo models to improve operational efficiency.
