Transcatarina 2026 off‑road adventure drives economic boost in Santa Catarina

Six residents of Cotia—Rogério Cantante, Vinicius Cantante, Sidney Vaz, Gustavo Vaz, Sérgio Cavallaro and Andreza Nascimento—completed the Transcatarina 2026 off‑road event in Santa Catarina. Over four days (July 6‑12) they covered about 600 km of rugged trails, facing rain, cold, river crossings, mud and steep climbs across Fraiburgo, Jaraguá do Sul and several intermediate towns.

The adventure, organized in the Adventure 03 category, attracted roughly a thousand participants and emphasized teamwork over competition. Organizers estimate the event‑related spending generated more than R$ 3.5 million for local hotels, restaurants, fuel stations and commerce, highlighting its role as a regional economic catalyst.
