TransDigm Group to acquire $240 million aerospace product package
TransDigm Group, through its operating unit Extant Aerospace, has signed an agreement to acquire a product package valued at approximately $240 million in cash. The acquisition includes components for civil helicopters, land systems, and business jets, as well as a production facility located in California. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in fiscal year 2027.
This move follows significant refinancing activities by the company. TransDigm Inc. recently placed $3 billion in senior secured notes with a 6.75% interest rate maturing in 2035, an increase from the initially planned $2.5 billion. The proceeds are intended to fund a cash repurchase offer for outstanding 6.75% notes due in 2028 and for general corporate purposes.
Market analysts have responded with caution. Melius Research downgraded the stock from ‘Buy’ to ‘Hold’ with a price target of $1,330, while RBC Capital maintained a ‘Sector Perform’ rating, citing regulatory uncertainties regarding repair rights and potential growth concerns in the spare parts market for fiscal year 2027.
