Transelec launches foundation to support Chilean communities
Transelec, Chile’s largest power transmission company, has announced the creation of Fundación Transelec. The new entity is designed to strengthen long-term relationships with the territories where the company operates, spanning from Arica to Chiloé.
The foundation will focus on four primary pillars: education and entrepreneurship, community energy, emergency response and support, and socio-environmental evaluation of projects. One of its initial educational programs, ‘Luces’, is currently in a pilot phase in the Biobío Region.
Arturo Le Blanc, General Manager of Transelec, stated that the foundation is not merely an administrative layer but a specialized institution with its own methodology and teams intended to provide permanent and professionalized community support wherever the company maintains substations.
