Transgaz launches tender for Huedin-Lugașu gas pipeline

Transgaz, Romania's national natural gas transport operator, has launched an open tender for the first lot of the Huedin-Lugașu gas pipeline. The project is estimated to cost between 96.17 million and 108.87 million lei, excluding VAT.

The contract covers the first 35 kilometers of the pipeline and includes electrical power supply, cathodic protection to prevent corrosion, and fiber optic installation. The works are expected to be completed within 18 months. Transgaz will provide approximately 32.686 million lei worth of materials, machinery, and equipment to the contractor.

The project spans several communes across three counties: Poieni, Ciucea, and Negreni in Cluj; Fildu de Jos and Sâg in Sălaj; and Bratca in Bihor. This infrastructure development is intended to enhance regional energy security and expand gas connections in the Cluj and Bihor regions. The investment will be funded through Transgaz's own resources.
