Transilvania Târgu Mureș Airport to host 13.7 million lei solar park

The Mureș County Council is set to debate a project for the construction of a 2.1 MW photovoltaic park at the Transilvania Târgu Mureș Airport. The total investment is valued at approximately 13.77 million lei, including VAT.

Funded through the ‘Modernization Fund’ via a contract between the Ministry of Transport and the airport authority, the project will be situated on 657,510 square meters in the Sânpaul commune. The installation will feature 3,360 photovoltaic panels, 14 inverters, and a 1.72 MWh battery energy storage system. The electricity produced is intended for the airport's own consumption. The project also includes technical infrastructure such as a SCADA system, a weather station, and various monitoring and security installations.
