Transjakarta apologizes for street performers entering Mikrotrans services

Transjakarta has issued an apology following viral social media footage showing street performers (pengamen) entering Mikrotrans services in the Kampung Melayu area of East Jakarta. The performers were seen sitting near vehicle entrances, causing discomfort to passengers attempting to board and exit.

Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, emphasized that street performing, soliciting donations, and selling goods are strictly prohibited within all bus fleets, Mikrotrans vehicles, and throughout all station areas. The company stated that these reports are being used for evaluation to prevent future occurrences.

Transjakarta also reminded passengers of standard Mikrotrans protocols, including the requirement to tap in and tap out using electronic money cards, even though the current fare is Rp0. Passengers encountering disruptions are encouraged to report incidents by noting the bus code or license plate number and contacting the Transjakarta Call Center or official social media channels.
