TransJakarta driver fired after hitting elderly man in Jakarta

On 25 July 2026 a Mikrotrans bus on TransJakarta’s route JAK 54 (Grogol‑Bendungan Hilir) struck an 81‑year‑old man riding a motorcycle on Jalan Tomang Utara. The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken hand, a broken nose and chest pain, and was taken to hospital. An investigation revealed the driver, employed by the operator Koperasi Komilet Jaya, tried to conceal the crash. TransJakarta’s Head of Public Relations and CSR, Ayu Wardhani, announced that the driver was dismissed without honor (PTDH) and the company apologized to the public. The operator and TransJakarta are working with the victim’s family on compensation and accountability. TransJakarta also reminded passengers to report any incidents through its call centre (1500‑102) or official social‑media channels.
