TransMilenio bus roof riding incident sparks calls for sanctions

A video has gone viral showing a group of youths riding on the roof of a TransMilenio bus in Bogotá. The footage shows the individuals climbing onto the roof of a vehicle operating along the Carrera 30 corridor, passing near the Movistar Arena and El Campín stadium. The group was also seen climbing onto station structures and descending through station railings.

The incident has sparked outrage among the public, transport workers, and political figures. Councilman Andrés Barrios Bernal has called on TransMilenio and the Secretariat of Security to identify and sanction those responsible, criticizing the perceived lack of authority in enforcing laws within the public transport system.
