Transmission Company of Nigeria restores power in Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored electricity supply following the completion of planned maintenance at the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation in Abuja. Power was fully restored at 4:08 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The scheduled outage was required to address a fault on Apo Lines 1 and 2 between Towers T130 and T132. Technical teams performed repairs that included the stringing and latching of the Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on the two 132kV Katampe–Apo transmission lines. TCN stated that the maintenance is part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining a reliable and efficient transmission network to improve electricity supply.
