Transoriente apologizes to elderly man denied bus travel with pet

The transportation company Transoriente has issued a public apology to José Luis Villa, an elderly man who was denied service by a bus driver in El Santuario, Antioquia, because he was traveling with his dog, Luna.

The incident gained widespread attention after a video circulated on social media showing Villa waiting at a bus stop in the rain with his pet. Following the public backlash, Transoriente's manager, Samir Echeverry, located Villa in Guatapé with police assistance.

During a meeting at the company's facilities, the firm provided Villa with complimentary travel tickets and various gifts for Luna, including food, toys, and accessories. The company also announced an internal review of its protocols regarding pet transportation and offered a pet carrier for future use.
