Transport disruptions reported in Kraków and Amsterdam due to infrastructure works

Major railway and tramway infrastructure projects are causing significant transport disruptions in Kraków and Amsterdam.

In Kraków, tram track renovations on św. Gertrudy and Stradomskiej streets are scheduled to begin on October 5, 2026, and continue until mid-December. The works involve repairing track curves between Hotel Royal and the Dietla street intersection. These repairs will implement one-way traffic toward Dietla street and suspend tram lines 8 and 20, while causing route changes for lines 13, 14, and 18.

In the Netherlands, Amsterdam Centraal station has suspended all train services due to renovation works managed by ProRail. The project aims to accommodate a projected increase in daily passengers from 200,000 to 275,000 by widening platforms, extending stairs, and expanding the eastern tunnel. Passengers are advised to use the metro or NS night buses, with expected congestion on routes between Amsterdam Centraal, Amsterdam Muiderpoort, and Utrecht Centraal.
