Transport experts gather in Poland to discuss automation and innovation

Transport experts and scientists have gathered in Poland for high-level discussions regarding the future of public transit, logistics, and automation.

In Poznań, representatives from the UITP Tram Division met to discuss the evolution of tram and light rail systems. Key topics included vehicle maintenance, safety, financing, and the automation of public transport. The R2DATO project was highlighted as a key initiative aimed at developing technologies for autonomous trains within the European network. Participants also inspected local infrastructure, including the Franowo depot and a new track junction on Wierzbięcica street utilizing prefabricated concrete slabs.

Simultaneously, the EURO-TRANS International Scientific Conference commenced in Szczecin. This event brings together researchers and industry practitioners to address innovations in transport efficiency, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability. The conference focuses on creating resilient transport systems capable of managing modern logistical challenges and environmental crises.
