Transport for Wales to invest £1m in new station Help Points
Transport for Wales (TfW) is investing £1 million to install new Help Points at 48 railway stations across Wales. The initiative aims to provide passengers with direct access to live travel advice and real-time information by connecting them to customer information controllers based in Wales.
The rollout will prioritize unstaffed stations, locations with infrequent services, and areas where mobile phone coverage is poor. These Help Points, located on platforms or station concourses, allow users to check train times, request assistance, or report problems at the press of a button. Most controllers are capable of speaking Welsh.
TfW manages 248 stations across Wales and the Borders, but currently, fewer than half are equipped with Help Points. The project also includes replacing existing Help Points at five stations in North Wales to ensure bilingual assistance is available throughout the network.
