Transport Trade Services completes €23 million Constanta grain terminal expansion
Transport Trade Services (TTS) announced the completion of a €23 million investment to expand the Canopus Constanța grain terminal in Romania. The project increased the terminal’s storage capacity to 180,000 tonnes by adding six silos of 11,000 tonnes each and five buffer silos of 825 tonnes each. New infrastructure includes a cargo receiving station for river barges, equipment for one of two new truck unloading stations, conveyor belts, bucket elevators, and three weighing stations on the vessel loading line.
The upgraded terminal can handle cargo from barges and trucks through two unloading stations, each with a capacity of 400 tonnes per hour, while the existing shiploaders load vessels at 800 tonnes per hour. Approximately 35% of the funding came from the company’s own resources, with the balance financed by a bank loan. The terminal is operated by Canopus Star Constanţa, a joint venture between TTS and Cargill Agricultura.
