Transportation agencies in Washington and Alaska seek public input
Pierce Transit has announced a public hearing regarding its proposed 2027 budget. The hearing is scheduled for November 9, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., and will be held in a hybrid format at the Pierce Transit Training Center in Lakewood, Washington, as well as via Zoom. The Board of Commissioners expects to consider the formal adoption of the budget during their regular meeting on December 14, 2026.
In Alaska, the Juneau Coordinated Transportation Coalition (JCTC) is requesting community feedback on its 2026 transit plan. This plan is designed to maintain regional grant eligibility through 2031 and aims to improve public transportation and human services for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and low-income residents. The draft plan will be presented by the Assembly Public Works and Facilities Committee on November 2, with a public comment period following at the regular Assembly meeting on November 16.
