Transportation and planning guide for students in Northern Cyprus

Thousands of students from across Turkey, including regions like Denizli, travel to universities in Northern Cyprus annually. For Turkish citizens, entry to Northern Cyprus can be made using an identity card, though those staying longer than three months must enter with a passport and obtain a student residence permit.

Flights are primarily directed to Ercan Airport. Turkish Airlines offers student discounts for travelers aged 12–25 on certain direct flights from Istanbul and Antalya, provided original student documentation is presented. Once at Ercan Airport, the KIBHAS bus service provides transport to major university hubs such as Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Güzelyurt, and Lefke.

For families visiting students, renting a vehicle is recommended to facilitate travel between historical sites and campuses. While buses reach city centers, taxis or local minibuses may be required for the final leg of the journey to specific campuses.
