TRANSTU announces recruitment of 580 new employees in Tunisia

The Société des Transports de Tunis (TRANSTU) has announced an external recruitment drive to fill 580 positions. The campaign aims to strengthen operational and technical teams for the capital's bus and metro networks.

The breakdown of new roles includes 336 bus drivers and conductors, 158 qualified agents, 37 cleaning staff, 20 security guards, 18 technical agents, 6 senior technicians, and 5 engineers. Applications must be submitted digitally through the company's official portal between August 12 and September 8, 2026.

This recruitment occurs amidst broader discussions regarding Tunisia's public sector finances. While the move addresses essential service needs that cannot be digitized, it also highlights the ongoing challenge of managing the national wage bill. Tunisian public sector remuneration is projected to reach approximately 25.267 billion dinars in 2026, representing about 13.4% of the country's GDP.
