Trapani allocates over €208,000 for Cave di Cusa access road
The Libero Consorzio Comunale di Trapani has launched extraordinary maintenance works on the SP 88 provincial road, the primary access route to the Cave di Cusa archaeological site. The project, which carries a contract value exceeding €208,000, aims to improve road safety and facilitate access for the high volume of visitors to the area.
The works are scheduled to last 100 days, with an estimated completion date by the end of January 2027. Key interventions include repairing severely degraded sections of the road surface and restoring the public lighting system, which is currently out of service. This initiative is part of the 2024-2026 three-year public works plan.
Salvatore Quinci, president of the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Trapani, stated that the project is not only a safety necessity but also a vital component of the institutional commitment to valorizing local cultural heritage. He emphasized that accessibility is a fundamental requirement for promoting tourism and supporting the economic and commercial activities of the territory.
