Trapani and Marsala to host presentations of new book on Western Sicilian identity

The book “Trapani e dintorni. Gente, culture e cucina”, published by Villaggio Letterario, will be presented in two events on October 16 and 17 in Trapani and Marsala. Curated by Valerio Agnesi, Anna Russolillo, and Maria Oliveri, the work explores the millenary history, archaeology, art, nature, and gastronomy of Western Sicily.

The volume consists of 27 chapters written by 19 authors, detailing how the region has served as a Mediterranean crossroads for various peoples and trade routes since prehistory.

The first presentation will take place on Friday, October 16, at 5:00 PM at the Museo Regionale Agostino Pepoli in Trapani. The event will feature contributions from various experts, including art historian Lina Novara, professor Angelo Troia, naturalist Salvatore Surdo, and archaeologist Anna Abbate.

The second event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at 5:00 PM at the Museo Archeologico Regionale Lilibeo in Marsala. This session will include speakers such as Maria Grazia Griffo and Violetta Isaia.
